In milliseconds, search engines assess a number of elements — images, keywords, content, metadata, links, etc. — before delivering results. Ever wonder how a small handful of lucky websites make it to the first page of Google’s search results? It’s because they were deemed the best resources for your search query — using an unimaginably complex version of the system described above. Search engines use links to discover when new webpages have been created and to help determine how well a page should rank in their results. Most SEO firms will tell claim it takes 4 to 6 months to start seeing results. It varies wildly but that’s generally in the ballpark for most projects. Note that SEO results are cumulative & escalate over time. If you’re getting positive results after 6 months these will compound after 12 months & re-compound thereafter. The most profitable relationships I’ve entered into with businesses have lasted for over 5 years during which time their fortunes have literally exploded. Like most SEO professionals, nothing wrecks my digestive system more than an organic traffic drop with no apparent reason.
Google ranking factors
The more likely potential visitors are to think your site will provide an answer to their search query, the more traffic a page will gain. To prepare for voice
search, you need to take a good look at your current content. Ask yourself, does it answer any question a user might have? If not, change it. Meta tags are the HTML elements that search engines and visitors find your content. It’s what they can see in a search engine and thus, it’s important to add value in a limited number of characters. Good website navigation is very important because it helps website visitors and search engines to understand your website structure. The internal links of your website do have an influence on the search engine rankings of your website.
Help readers make the connection between their search term and the result
Be careful not to include links within content that lead directly to the desktop or mobile version of a page. Even if the user will be switched to the correct URL based on their device, Google sees these types of links as a bad user experience. You don’t merely want
people to see your website. You want them to visit it, spend time on it and take the desired actions on it. Google’s web indexing system favors recently updated content, especially for time-sensitive searches. Ideally page titles should include the search term for which the website has been optimized.
Start the Hunt for Media and Reporters
Avoid dated domain naming techniques like replacing words with numbers. If you want your website to rank well and stay penalty-free, building new links is not enough. You need to take care of your backlink profile and disavow all the spammy links. The recent statistics show that there are over 1.2 billion websites hosted on the internet today. And, there are also numerous websites that are competing for specific keywords on popular search engines. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant
: "The freelance world might disagree with me but frankly I do not think there is not an SEO in the world who can lay claim to having the expertise and experience to deliver, hands-on, every single facet of what makes up contemporary SEO."
Project the right image
A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. Whether you’re
switching domain names, restructuring your URLs (more on that in the next section),
or consolidating content as part of your website redesign, setting up 301 redirects is
crucial to ensuring any “SEO juice” from your old URLs gets transferred to your new
URLs. The Internet is made
up of trillions of pages that are all connected to one another with links. These links are how search engines “crawl” the web, using virtual
spiders (or bots). As these spiders follow the links on pages to other pages, they store information as they go. And they don’t miss a beat! From search terms to images and videos, these bots survey, collect and take note of any information they can get their spindly little hands on. Ranking factors play a huge role in SEO and the overall digital marketing strategy of a website. Important elements of a website redesign oftentimes get
pushed to the side when timeframes are constrained. One of
the most important components of a new design project is to
take time at the beginning to analyze current traffic to ensure
current visitors are not lost.
